Two systems. One house.
Control4 connects to KNX natively — no third-party gateway in the middle. The ETS project imports straight into the Control4 project, so you get the robustness of the bus and the polish of the interface as one coherent system.

Consultation & brief
We look at the floor plans, the stage of works and — more importantly — how you actually live. The outcome is a scope, not a sales pitch.

Design & ETS project
System topology, device schedule, panel layout and cable routes. You approve the design before a single item is ordered.
- 03
Supply
Equipment sourced through official channels and delivered to site, with the schedule aligned to your construction programme.
- 04
Installation & programming
Wiring, panel build, ETS commissioning and Control4 programming. Scenes are tuned on site, with you in the room.
- 05
Handover & support
Training for the household and staff, full documentation handed over, and a support line that answers after the invoice is paid.
Questions
The things people ask before they call
It depends on the number of controlled circuits far more than on floor area — two apartments of the same size can differ several times over. We quote after a technical survey of the property and a scope you have approved, so the figure you receive is the figure you pay.
Often, yes. KNX is not only a wired bus: the standard also covers wireless RF and powerline devices alongside twisted pair, which makes retrofit possible without stripping the property back to brick. How far we can go without construction work depends on the building, so this is decided during the survey.
Ideally before the electrical first fix, while cable routes are still on paper — that is when automation costs the least and delivers the most. If the renovation is already under way, call us anyway; the earlier we see the drawings, the more options remain open.
They are excellent at being single devices and poor at being a house. Each one depends on a manufacturer's cloud, speaks only to its own app, and stops working the day that brand loses interest. KNX was built as a building standard instead of a product line, which is why it is still running installations three decades old.
The house keeps working. Core KNX functions — lighting, climate, shading, scenes, keypads — run locally on the bus without relying on a constant internet connection. What you lose is remote access from outside the property, which comes back as soon as the line does.
Not by the technology. KNX is an open standard and your ETS project is handed to you, so any certified KNX professional can read, service and extend the installation. The Control4 side is programmed with manufacturer tools available to authorised dealers — that is Control4's model, and we tell you plainly rather than after the fact.
The automation schedule tracks the construction schedule rather than running on its own clock — commissioning can only start once power and finishes are at the right stage. You get a dated programme with the design, and we flag any slippage as it happens instead of at the end.
Equipment carries its manufacturer warranty, and our workmanship and programming are covered by our own terms, which are set out in the contract before you sign it. After handover we stay reachable for adjustments, additions and scene changes.
